With the international outbreak of Coronavirus, Mace took decisive action in support of their employees by removing them from site until a risk assessment could be carried out to establish a safe working practice for everyone. Innovative and effective solutions had to be explored to enable limited operations to proceed.
Following a risk assessment, NBC were engaged by The Mace Group to provide a disinfecting and decontamination service to help prevent the potential transfer of the virus from employee to employee on return.
On site there were 3 main areas comprising of offices, an energy centre with plant machinery and a construction site which is made up of areas where workforce congregates, such as a locker room, canteen areas and toilets.
The work was carried out after the workforce had left the premises by a team of disinfecting operatives from NBC.
Operatives of NBC were in full PPE consisting of gloves, footshoe overalls, full body overalls, masks/apparatus and eye protection. On exit of the site the PPE is disposed of in accordance with NBC’s waste carrier’s licence.
“Having NBC onboard working with us as a contractor covering our pest control throughout the site, I was well aware of their professional and efficient approach. Through regular communication I was also aware of other services they provide.
Their knowledge base is exceptional and proves an asset when informing our decision making processes. Utilising the NBC disinfecting and decontamination service as part of a raft of measures employed has given confidence to the team and assisted greatly in our bid to establish safe working practices for the team.
NBC have also demonstrated on a number of occasions valued flexibility and have been accommodating to the ever changing Construction environment; This approach is invaluable and makes them an asset to Project Laureate and the Broader Team.”
