We have a fantastic opportunity for an experienced falconer to join our rapidly expanding team. The successful candidate will receive great rates of pay as well as excellent training opportunities in order to see our employees be the best that they can be.
About the Role
- The Head Falconer will be responsible for:
- The day to day running of the NBC Centre of Falconry (this will not be open to the public)
- Maintaining the Falconry Centre and livestock to a high standard
- Ensure the Centre is presentable for visiting clients and guests to view
- Maintain all livestock: ensuring cleaning, feeding and training records are maintained.
- Training of birds to ensure our customers’ needs are fulfilled.
- Train and support new staff members in the field.
- Competency assess team members/supply chain partners falconry abilities in the field.
- Conduct home checks to ensure all NBC livestock is being kept in suitable conditions
- Manage NBC birds of prey allocation and location (including all deterrents)
- Manage and record all waste generated from HO and the stores.
- Ensure records and administration tasks relating to NBC falconry are up to date.
- Delivering birds to staff around the country as required
This is a supporting rather than operational role, however some operational support may be required to meet business needs.

We are looking for a candidate with a broad range of skills and experience including:
Essential Skills/Experience:
- At least 5 years’ experience of flying and training shortwings and longwings.
- Good IT skills and familiarity with Microsoft Office
- A full driving license.

This investment will include a commitment to an agreed number of non-fee earning days assigned to the technician (depending upon grade) for training, development and team building purposes. The company will also assign a training mentor to identify skill requirement and assist you with your development within the company
Work Requirements: Usual working hours Monday to Friday, 9am – 5pm (including a one-hour, unpaid lunch break) but with occasional weekend and working away required.
You will report directly to the Operations Manager.
Remuneration: £28,000 plus opportunities to earn bonuses and overtime
